ABOUT THE MAIN PATTERN
These are fun material-covered CIRCULAR magnets that come together super fast and easy. This no sew pattern provides time-saving templates for frustration-free accurate placements. The pattern includes what you need for a nicely-centered circular magnet using leather (or other appropriate non-woven) and a neodymium disc magnet. If you have a logo stamp, you can customize the magnet with your brand aided by the included logo-fit templates.
These magnets can be used in all sorts of fun ways and for useful things. You can create a sewing machine magnet for your snips, a fridge magnet, or one for a metal white board. Best of all they are non-marring on metal surfaces.
The included circular sizes are based on readily available shape cutters from Amazon. The pattern includes inch/metric conversions for shape cutter, the info you need to purchase disc magnets in the right diameter, thickness and strength, along with sources for purchase.
This listing is for the main pattern, which includes circular shapes (only). Pattern Add-On(s) available for other shapes in a separate listing. Square magnets shown in images are from the add-on. See "Square" shaped add-on.
LEVEL/SKILL: Anyone can make these. Some leather-crafting skills are used:
-
Using leather contact cement* as an adhesive (included in direction)
- If you want to optionally include a stamped logo, you must have a brass stamp and know how to use your cold or hot-stamping tools.
PATTERN INCLUDES
- Step-by-step instruction with images
-
Six sizes - X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, -Large, and X-Large. The smallest size finishes at 1.38" diameter and the largest finishes at 2.17" in diameter. The specific sizes for pre-cutting, final circular cutting, magnet selection and logo fit size are included in the pattern detail.
-
Two templates for each size: "A" for material cutting (and optional stamp positioning), and "B" for magnet centering.
- SVG files for accurate cutting of the templates. (The templates can also be cut out by hand using precision and a utility-craft type knife or extra-sharp small scissor.
Pattern does not include logo-stamping instruction, but includes templates for logo/stamping centering. You may be interested in this tutorial document called "ALL ABOUT LOGO STAMPING."
